Volunteers join the men in prison for regular worship. Centered on the Word of God, worship includes singing led by the praise team, preaching, prayers, and fellowship. Each month, we celebrate Holy Communion. We emphasize the participation of the men within the walls—New Life is their church.
Twice a year, we provide an opportunity for men to be baptized or profess their faith in Jesus Christ during a worship service. Men who feel called to make this commitment participate in a class that teaches about knowing God, God’s story, the meaning of baptism, and the Christian life.
Twice a week, we come together for Bible study and prayer group. Discipleship training takes place here. Each meeting includes praise songs, prayer time, and digging into God’s Word. We grow in our faith by encouraging each other to live for Christ.
Some of the mature believers are asked to take part in Stephen Ministry. They receive 50 hours of classroom instruction on how to become a Christian caregiver. Through this program, men in prison can walk alongside and help others going through a life crisis.
